CSI: Crime Scene Investigation is an innovative, fast-paced drama that follows a crew of forensic investigators on the appropriately named "graveyard" shift at the top non-FBI Forensics lab in the country, located in Las Vegas, as they solve crimes by analyzing evidence with advanced forensic tools. Many of the shows are loosely based on real-life events, police cases, and situations.

The crew, headed by Gil Grissom, the senior investigator and the shift supervisor devoted to finding the truth through the latest forensic methods combined with old-fashioned research and intuition. Alongside Gil is Catherine Willows, a single mother struggling to balance her home life with the rigors of her demanding job as Gil's second-in-comand; Warrick Brown, whose knowledge of the gambling world helps the Las Vegas based crew, even as his addiction to it occasionally gets him into troubles; Nick Stokes, a self-proclaimed ladies man with an objective to find the wrong-doers; and Sara Sidle, the newest, outspoken member who often lets her troubled past get in the way of her job. The crew works along side Captain Jim Brass, the former head of the graveyard shift turned captain; Greg Sanders, a quirky lab tech (later switching to a field operative); and medical examiner Dr. Al Robbins.

This cutting-edge drama recently began its 10th season on the air, and has been the number one scripted series for four years running, and shows no sign of slowing down any time soon. Changes introduced with/during the ninth season are the loss of three cast members (Gary Dourdan as Warrick Brown, Jorja Fox as Sara Sidle, and William Petersen as Gil Grissom) and the inclusion of another in the person of Dr. Raymond Langston(Laurence Fishburne), a medical doctor with an interest in forensic medicine, who decides to take a major pay cut and join the hands-on side of the job as a CSI. With the beginning of the tenth season, Jorja Fox rejoins the cast on a steady "guest starring" basis.

9	Living Legend The remains of Mickey Dunn, a wanted Las Vegas mobster who disappeared in the mid 1970s, are fished out of Lake Mead with a bullet hole in the head. Soon afterwards, a wheelchair-bound man is murdered and a photo found on his body shows the victim with Dunn and three other men. Dunn and the victim have Xs on their faces. Deeper investigation reveals that he was an unwitting participant in a special gift, a weekend created by a company that specializes in identifying one's fantasy and making them come real. 15	Pirates of the Third Reich A woman's bald, branded and emaciated body is discovered dumped in the desert. The investigation soon reveals that the victim is the estranged daughter of Grissom's one-time friend Lady Heather. The probe also reveals that one of the dead woman's eyeballs isn't her own and belongs instead to a convicted sex offender. When a wild police chase of drug smugglers through the streets of Las Vegas leaves an officer killed, the CSIs suspect that the cop killed in the line of duty was shot by one of his fellow officers. Meanwhile, while downstairs at the hotel, the CSIs discover that the immigrant kitchen workers may have turned against each other, and their hostilities between one another may have led to murder. 1	Bodies in Motion Grissom, Catherine and the CSI team investigate three separate cases: a couple is found dead in bed after a suspicious trailer explosion; a stripper is murdered and her body is dumped in the bad part of town; and two bodies are found decomposing in the trunk of a car, forcing the CSIs to “wrap up” the evidence and examine it at the lab. 24	Grave Danger (1) Nick is kidnapped by a man with a grudge against the CSIs. When he awakens, he finds himself trapped in a coffin with a loaded handgun and a message telling him that he better kill himself because he’s going to die anyway. Attached to the coffin is a webcam that tapes Nick’s every move and sends the image back to the CSI lab where his co-workers slowly watch him suffocate. In a race against the clock, the two CSI teams combine back into one team, and under Grissom, the team works to find Nick. They try to hack into the webcam, but much to their horror, the picture is replaced by a countdown and a message telling them to bring a ransom to a warehouse. Grissom takes the money to the location and comes face to face with Nick’s kidnapper. However, the kidnapper has an explosive plan that may lead to the death of Grissom and of Nick. 23	Iced When a college basketball star doesn’t show up for the big game, one of his fellow dorm residents ends up finding the player dead in a sleeping bag with a girl in his dorm room. 12	Snakes A baby rattlesnake is found in the throat of a decapitated head. In order to catch the killer, the CSIs put themselves into the world of narcocorrido, a Mexican musical lifestyle that idolizes violent acts and brutality. Meanwhile, Sofia and Greg investigate the death of a woman found dead in the front seat of a handicapped van at a casino. 11	Who Shot Sherlock? A Sherlock Holms enthusiast is murdered in his perfectly recreated Victorian Era Baker Street study. At first the team believes that the death was a suicide, but after reexamination of the scene and of the evidence, Grissom determines that other factors were involved in the man’s murder. 23	Bloodlines A casino employee is brutally beaten and raped on her way home from work, and survives the attack. Though she is able to identify her attacker, a DNA test sets the suspect free. Upon hearing this, Grissom must decide whether or not the evidence can be wrong. Meanwhile, Grissom rescues one of his co-workers that happens to find themselves on the other side of the law. 17	XX An arm falls out from underneath of a bus and after an investigation of the bus, the CSIs find the remains of the body stuck beneath the bus. The bus in question was carrying inmates from a women’s correctional facility, leading the CSIs to believe that an inmate tried to escape during transport. But when tests reveal that the victim was dead before the transport began, the case becomes more complex. 14	One Hit Wonder Catherine leads the investigation of various instances of a Peeping Tom as the team rush to catch the Tom before his crimes escalate to assaults -- a path which, though unusual, is suggested by specific evidence found at the crime scenes. Meanwhile, Sara reopens a case involving her friend, a district attorney, who was shot during an attack on her husband three years prior. 13	Random Acts of Violence When a drive-by shooting results in the death of a young girl asleep in her bedroom, Warrick is assigned the case. The murder occurred in Warrick's old neighborhood, and the young girl is the daughter of an old friend and mentor. Warrick allows his emotions to get out of control, which leads Grissom to pull him from the case, infuriating Warrick. Meanwhile, Nick investigates the murder of a computer company employee which has only has three possible suspects -- all of whom are employees of the company. 12	Got Murder? When a group of bird watchers find a raven with an eyeball in its mouth, the CSIs are able to connect the eye to a divorced man and his two children. In another case, as David is about to begin his first autopsy, supervised by Dr. Robinson, the body startlingly turns out to be anything but dead. They successfully revive him, but he dies later of his injuries. Warrick and Grissom look into the man's reasons for being on the autopsy table in the first place.	Friday, 17 January 2003

9	Blood Lust When a cab driver apparently runs over a teenaged male, he is pulled from his cab and fatally beaten by a racially charged mob who thought he was going to flee the scene. After investigation of the evidence, though, Grissom and his team discover that the boy died from multiple stab wounds, but shows no signs of being actually struck by the cab. 8	Snuff Catherine is called upon by a pornographic film producer to watch grainy graphic footage from a possible snuff movie in which a woman may have been murdered. 7	Fight Night A boxer dies in the ring after taking a deadly beating from an opponent. The death seems accidental, but Grissom, after looking at the evidence, is lead to believe that the death was murder. 6	The Execution of Catherine Willows A part of Catherine's past comes back to haunt her when a man that she put on death row 15 years ago is about to be executed. However, his execution is postponed a the last moment when new DNA evidence is introduced. Suddenly, a new body turns up at the local college, killed in the same manner of the previous murders, leading to the obvious conclusion that the actual killer may still on the loose... but is it a copycat killer? 5	Abra Cadaver During a magic act, an unidentified woman actually vanishes and Grissom begins to think that the magician had a hand in the woman's mysterious disappearance from the face of the earth. Across town, Catherine looks into the apparent overdose of a recovering rock star, whose body is found dead on the tour bus with a needle in his arm. 4	A Little Murder A dwarf is found dead, hanging on a rope above a stage in a casino where a little peoples' convention is being held. Though the scene looks like a suicide, Grissom decides from the evidence that foul play was involved in the man's murder. In a scene reminiscent of the pilot (the death of Holly Gribbs), Catherine is assaulted while investigating the crime scene of an apparent robbery-murder scenario.	Friday, 18 October 2002

1	Revenge Is Best Served Cold Nick and Catherine wind up in the world of street racing when a driver is found dead at an abandoned airstrip. They find that the woman's body is disfigured and starting to decompose, and her face is covered with gashes and scars, leading the team to believe that someone shoved her face into a fan. After seeing the rest of the contents of the cart: an expensive handbag, fashion magazines and a leather day planner, it is clear she was not homeless at all. 22	Cross-Jurisdictions Grissom and the team are called out when the city's former chief of detectives is killed execution-style in his home after a party and his wife and child are missing. After the station receive reports that they had seen the missing child near Miami, Catherine and Warrick fly to Florida and meet with Horatio Caine, Miami's chief CSI, who works with them on their investigation. 19	Stalker Jane Galloway is a woman who lives a secluded life -- the shades are always drawn, doors are always triple-locked -- and she falls victim to a serial killer. The CSIs are called to investigate the scene and have to find out who killed Jane and how the killer could have gotten into the house with out tripping Jane's security system. 18	Chasing the Bus On its regular run from LA to Vegas, a bus crashes, landing on top of a passing sports car and killing nine people. The dying driver of the bus tells the team that the steering went out without warning and that was what caused the bus to go out of control. 17	Felonius Monk Grissom is called to investigate when four monks are shot and killed while chanting in a Buddhist temple. At the same time, Catherine reopens a case involving the murder of her best friend when the man convicted of her murder claims, immediately before his death, that he wasn't the murderer. 16	Primum Non Nocere After a fight breaks out among the players at an amateur hockey game, the goalie ends up at the bottom of a pile. When the pile clears up, he is found dead with a gash across his neck. Grissom, Catherine and Sara are called to determine whether the death was an accident or foul play. Meanwhile, Warrick and Nick investigate the apparently drug-related death of a sax player at a casino.	Friday, 1 March 2002
15	Burden of Proof When an extra body that doesn't belong there is found at a body farm used for forensic studies of decay, it falls to Grissom to investigate the murder. The death was apparently caused by a bullet, though there are no fragments found. Some of Grissom's actions call his leadership abilities into question with the rest of the CSIs as well. 13	Identity Crisis The team once more investigates a crime scene left by serial killer Paul Millander. Probing of the crime scene and the files from his past murders, the team realizes that all the victims shared the same day of birth, the day of the murder of Paul Millander's father, with the birth years descending: 1959, 1958, 1957... 12	You've Got Male Grissom and Sara investigate two female bodies found hidden in pipes at a road construction site. They identify the victims as sisters who share a common link: a former prison inmate. 11	Organ Grinder When a well-known real estate developer is found in an elevator, the CSIs are called to investigate the murder. They realize that the crime scene has been tampered with -- the victim has been redressed -- which complicates the investigation. 10	Ellie While Grissom and Catherine are away, Warrick is put in charge. He and Sara take a case when a con artist, who was involved with Brass's daughter, is murdered. The evidence leads the team also into an investigation of a counterfeit money ring. The CSI's number one suspect in the murder is Brass's daughter, forcing Captain Brass to take himself off of the case, but, while he does so as a cop, he can't do so as a father. 4	Bully for You After a youth is found murdered, shot in the back, in the bathroom of a local high school, the team's investigation reveals that the school's top jock and class clown was also a class bully, pointing to the students as likely suspects. 3	Overload Grissom finds himself at odds with the Sheriff when he insists on a deeper investigation into what seems to be a suicide at a construction site. The Sheriff is pressured by the site operator to free up the site, while Grissom insists that the man may have been murdered, limiting access to the crime scene and causing construction delays. Meanwhile, Nick and Catherine get stuck with a case with little evidence beyond angora fibers, which are found on a dead teen's underwear. As details are exposed, they believe that the boy's psychologist wasn't acting on the up-and-up.	Friday, 12 October 2001
2	Chaos Theory When a young college girl vanishes, apparently with no trace, the CSIs investigate. They find a lot of strange evidentiary odds and ends that point in many directions, but they all turn out to be dead ends. 1	Burked A gardener, outside the house, observes Tony Braun, a known drug addict and old-time Vegas casino mogul (i.e., with suggested mafia ties), face down in his house and, judging by the paraphernalia surrounding the body, the apparent cause of death is a drug overdose. However, once the investigation begins, Grissom detects evidence of duct tape on the body, which leads the CSIs to believe that the victim was restrained and forced to ingest lethal amounts of drugs. 22	Evaluation Day It's evaluation day for the staff, but Grissom's evaluations take a back seat when a severed head, sans body, is found in a car's trunk. Meanwhile, Sara and Nick investigate when a body turns up in the desert, and it happens to be missing the head. Warrick is sent to investigate things at the juvenile detention center after a teen is found murdered. The only witness to the death is the young man James, whom Warrick identified in episode 3, as guilty of a hit and run and promised to look after.	Friday, 11 May 2001

20	Sounds of Silence Two women, out partying, strike a young man with their car. As it turns out, not only was he deaf but he was also dead before they struck him. Gil investigates, but runs into problems when the administrators at the dead youth's school refuse to help. 18	$35K O.B.O. When a couple celebrating their anniversary is killed in front of the restaurant they have just left and their car is stolen, the CSIs investigate. The investigation is complicated when it begins to rain and most of the crime scene evidence is destroyed. When the car is found, and its evidence is collected, the details of thee case become stranger and stranger. Meanwhile, Catherine investigates the death of three senior citizens when the ceiling of their residence collapsed. 17	Face Lift A body suffering from head trauma found one morning in a store, near the safe, appears to have been the result of an interrupted robbery. A fingerprint found at the store connects the robbery in some way to a young girl kidnapped twenty years before. Sara and Warrick find themselves assigned to investigate a woman who burned to death while the house around her was hardly affected. Sara claims it's a case of mythical "spontaneous human combustion", while Warrick insists there is a simpler explanation. They compete to find the true answer.	Friday, 9 March 2001
16	Too Tough to Die After a woman is kidnapped, raped, beaten, and shot, then left for dead in a comatose state, it falls upon Sara to identify her. As she works on the case, she develops an appreciation for the woman's strength and character the more she learns. Catherine and Warrick have a murder case dumped in their laps when the assigned CSI on the case quits. It falls to them to understand how the story of the accused and the victim's wife are so at odds. 15	Table Stakes When a woman winds up floating in the pool at a swanky fundraiser with many local VIPs, the CSIs investigate, but must tread lightly for political reasons, though there is also pressure for a quick solution for the same reasons. The owner of the house where the fundraiser was held is out of town, and suspicions falls on the hosts of the party, a couple who is house-sitting for her. Warrick is sent to look into an apparent mob-style hit, where the victim, shot in the forehead in a hotel's glass elevator, was left with a quarter covering the entry wound. A woman winds up dead at a classy fundraiser and the CSIs are sent to investigate. The owner of the house is out of town, turning the suspicion to the couple house-sitting for the owner. Meanwhile, Warrick investigates a murder committed in a glass elevator. After some investigation, Warrick discovers that the victim had a professional hit put out on him.	Friday, 23 February 2001
14	To Halve and to Hold After a human bone is found in the desert by a dog playing fetch with its owner, Gil and Catherine have to search across a large area for clues about the body, which leads to an identification. When his wife is approached, she insists that her husband is away at a local store. Warrick and Sara, at the same time, investigate the death of a male stripper who was working a bachlorette party that appears to have gotten way out of hand. 13	Boom After a bomb explodes in an office building and several people are injured and one is killed, the CSIs first suspect is a security guard who left only minutes before, and has amateur experience with bomb making. Nick helps his prostitute friend from the pilot episode, who then seduces him, but winds up dead the next morning, making Nick a prime suspect. Worse still, Ecklie winds up with the case. 12	Fahrenheit 932 A man who is on trial for the arson and murder of his wife and child implores Grissom to help prove his innocence. Grissom agrees to look into it despite the fact that this puts him at odds with Ecklie, who performed the original investigation. 11	I-15 Murders A woman is kidnapped from a supermarket. While investigating, Grissom finds evidence that suggests that five other women have already been killed, creating a race to find out who the kidnapper is. After being caught on duty in a casino and suspended, a reinstated Warrick is paired up with Sara for a robbery-murder case. Sara is concerned with Warrick's devotion to duty as well as his clear gambling problem. Meanwhile, Nick is asked for help by the prostitute he befriended in the pilot episode, after she has problems with a hotel's security staff.	Saturday, 13 January 2001
10	Sex, Lies and Larvae A body covered in bugs is found abandoned in the desert, leaving Grissom and Sara to figure out where it came from and who killed the victim. Warrick and Catherine investigate the theft of valuable pieces of art while Nick is assigned to uncover the truth about why a missing woman's car is found at a bus station. 8	Anonymous Three months ago (in the pilot episode), Royce Harmon was murdered and his killer rigged the scene to make it appear as a suicide. Another murder has been committed, with similar evidence, and the killers' extensive knowledge of forensics has left Grissom and his crew bewildered. 7	Blood Drops The full team looks into a mass murder in which a teenager and her younger sister are the only survivors of the brutal murders of the rest of their family. 2	Cool Change In the aftermath of the Holly Gribbs shooting, Captain Brass is demoted and reassigned as a homicide detective, with Gil getting promoted to full head of the CSI unit. Grissom brings in Sara Sidel, an investigator he knows from San Francisco, and assigns her to the case, much to the displeasure of Catherine, who felt guilty about some things she said to Holly before the shooting, and wanted the case for herself. Grissom and Nick investigate the apparent suicide of a man who, hours before, had won a large casino jackpot. Warrick, who left Holly alone at the scene in violation of standard procedures, is up for suspension as a result, even as he is pressured from the other side by a corrupt judge. 1	Pilot Gil Grissom is the supervisor of the CSI, the forensics unit of the pre-eminent crime lab in the country, second only to the FBI's unit at Quantico. This episode introduces the other members of the cast, including Grissom's boss, Captain Jim Brass; Catherine Willows, a single mother and the number two CSI; and Warrick Brown, a young investigator angling for a promotion to level 3 investigator His chief competition is fellow CSI, Nick Stokes. Grissom investigates the case of a murder set up to look like a suicide, but discovers very little evidence at the scene. Warrick and Catherine are assigned to the case of drunk man shot to death.
